■ Announcement of Death of Mr. Takamasa Sakurai

　2015年12月4日、国際オタクイベント協会（IOEA）事務局長の櫻井孝昌氏が死去しましたことをお知らせいたします。
氏は日本のポップカルチャーを世界に広める第一人者として活動してこられ、我々と共に国際オタクイベント協会の立ち上げに尽力されました。近年では、世界各国のイベントで講演やプロデュース活動を行うなど、精力的に活動をしておりました。

　ここに生前のご厚誼を深く感謝するとともに、謹んでお知らせいたします。


国際オタクイベント協会（IOEA）立ち上げの大切な友人であり仲間であり尊敬する氏が他界したことに、心の整理がついておりません。しかし、氏とともに語りあった「オタクの団結」という夢を実現すべく、国際オタクイベント協会（IOEA）の継続、発展させることが私の使命であると考えております。

　その他、詳細につきましては、改めてご報告申し上げます。

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Takamasa Sakurai, the director of the IOEA Executive Office, on December 4th, 2015.
Takamasa was one of the most prominent promoters of Japanese pop culture on a worldwide scale. In recent years, he was very active as a speaker as well as an organizer for activities at numerous events around the world.
We would like to express our deepest appreciation to everybody who knew him for all the kindness and support he received during his life.

櫻井　孝昌（さくらいたかまさ）
コンテンツメディアプロデューサー、作家、デジタルハリウッド大学・大学院特任教授、国際オタクイベント協会（International Otaku Expo Association、IOEA）事務局長。 世界27カ国のべ157都市で文化外交活動を実施。 外務省の各種有有識者会議委員等も歴任。 2009年度外務省が委嘱した「カワイイ大使」のプロデューサーも務める。 アニメやファッション、音楽等Japan Pop Cultureを用いた文化外交のパイオニア的存在。世界各国の日本イベントにゲストとして招かれていた。
『日本が好きすぎる中国人女子』『世界カワイイ革命』『アニメ文化外交』ほか著書多数。新聞、Webマガジン等での各種連載、ラジオパーソナリティ、テレビ・コメンテーターとしても活躍。

Regarding Takamasa Sakurai
Producer, Digital Hollywood University, Spescially pointed professor for graduate school, Exective Director of International Otaku Expo Association.
He was carrying out cultural diplomacy in over 27 countries and 157 cities around the world. He served various conference comittee such as Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2009, He was entrusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affair as KAWAII ambassador. He also conducted cultural diplomacy through Japanese pop culture such as anime, fashion, music, etc. He was often invited by various countries as the guest for Japanese event around the world.
He also contributed to newspapers , web magazines , and other media. Takamasa was also regular contributor to radio as well as television.
